Exotic fish caught in Miami canal

This is a beautiful spotted tilapia (Tilapia mariae) that we caught on a crappie jig. The vibrant red colors on his belly is a seasonal coloration used to attract a mate. The female will color up as well but not as red as the male and she will most likely be the larger one of the two. As the title states this is not a South Florida native fish, but they have a well establish population in our canal systems. The video was recorded using a GoPro HD camera at 720p and 30fps. ENJOY!!
